New York City native Miriam Solkowitz combines a lifelong passion for real estate, a deep love of people and a personal, creative style in her commercial real estate work. Communication is at the core of what she does. Knowing that every client's goals and needs are different, she listens closely in order to craft a plan uniquely suited to their objectives. "I am a people person," she says. "I love their energy, and I love helping people achieve their dreams."
Miriam has been enthralled by architecture and design for as long as she can remember. She began designing houses part-time during college to earn money and found her niche designing kitchens and bathrooms. During a career detour running her own custom chocolates business, which catered to the hospitality industry, Miriam fed her entrepreneurial spirit and developed close relationships with major hotel chains. This extensive business experience has not only honed her keen eye for design and her marketing skills, but has also helped her build a vast network that aids in her commercial real estate work selling hotels, buildings and warehouses.
Driven to succeed, Miriam sets lofty goals for herself and works hard to achieve them. Within her first month in commercial real estate, she entered a signed contract with a major hotel chain, and her current ambition is to break the single-year commercial agent record.
Miriam grew up in Midwood, Brooklyn, and attended Parsons School of Design where she studied fashion and architecture design. She counts among her favorite activities painting, decorating, visiting museums and meeting new people.
